Nord Dakota, la resa dei sioux: sgomberato il campo anti-oleodotto
Ancora scontri in Nord Dakota nel corso di una manifestazione contro la realizzazione dell’oleodotto che, se portato a termine, attraverserebbe i territori sacri ai nativi. Le forze dell’ordine hanno fatto sapere che sono state arrestate nove persone colpevoli di aver insultato gli agenti presenti. Il corpo degli ingegneri dell’esercito, chiamato in causa dal governo Trump per valutare l’impatto che il progetto avrebbe avuto sull’ambiente, aveva annunciato nelle settimane scorse la decisione di dare il permesso alle società coinvolte per la realizzazione dell’oleodotto. E’ seguito l’ordine ai manifestanti di abbandonare il campo occupato dalle proteste. Dopo i nove arresti, i manifestanti hanno lasciato l’area. Scheduled Eviction of Main #NoDAPL Encampment

Cannonball, ND – After nearly a year of struggling against the Dakota Access Pipeline’s construction underneath the Missouri River, water protectors are now scheduled to be evicted from their main encampment. [Watch our LIVE updates below]
The encampment, on unceded Fort Laramie Treaty land and maintained by the Army Corps of Engineers, has a few hundred water protectors still holding steady as the eviction looms.
Ceremonial fires have been raging throughout the snow-filled morning.
