Stati Uniti. La polizia crivella di colpi un afroamericano

 

Ancora una esecuzione di un nero da parte dei poliziotti. Stavolta è avvenuto nella centralissima Times Square a New York. Guarda il video. Panico oggi a Times Square, dove la polizia ha ucciso un afroamericano. L’uomo, un afroamericano di 51 anni, era stato fermato dai poliziotti perché sospettato di usare marijuana. Avvicinato dalla polizia ha riposto in tasca un pacchetto di sigarette e, secondo i poliziotti, ha estratto un coltello e non avrebbe obbedito agli agenti e iniziando a correre fra la folla, svicolando fra le auto e fra i passanti.
I poliziotti hanno usato per sei volte spray al peperoncino, poi due agenti gli hanno sparato mentre l’uomo si allontanava e si trovava nei pressi della 37ma strada e la Settima Avenue. L’uomo è morto 40 minuti dopo all’ospedale. La folla presente ha gridato contro la polizia per l’esecuzione, lo sisente con evidenza nel video.

UPDATE: Little Rock police officer kills suspect in car break-in

For the second time in two days, Little Rock police gunfire has resulted in a death.

Preliminary report from Sgt. Cassandra Davis:

At 5:15 this morning officers were called to 13111 W. Markham (Shadow Lake Apartments) to a suspicious person, someone possibly breaking into cars. As a result an officer did fire his weapon striking and killing one individual. Two additional individuals were taken into custody as well.

The officer will be placed on routine paid administrative leave. Neither the name of the officer nor the other three individuals involved in the incident will be released at this time. The number of times the officer fired will not be released at this time. Additional information reference this incident will be released upon completion of the investigation or as it becomes necessary.

Police gunfire Friday afternoon resulted in the death of a man who reportedly came out of a Leawood house with a gun. Officers were investigating a domestic disturbance. NOTE: The police have released further information on that incident. It’s been added at the link.

UPDATE: Channel 4 has talked with the family of a 15-year-old they believe was killed.

UPDATE: Police have provided some further information on this morning’s shootings. Officer Josh Hastings fired on a car fleeing the apartments’ parking lot after he interrupted them in the alleged car burgalry. The juvenile driver of the car was killed and two others in the car were arrested. Hastings has been in the news before, in part for complaints by black officers about his past attendance at a KKK meeting. The full police statement follows:

POLICE STATEMENT

On Sunday, August 12, 2012, at approximately 5:15 a.m. officers were called to 13111 W. Markham (Shadow Lake Apartments) to a suspicious person, someone possibly breaking into cars. The first officer on scene (Officer Josh Hastings) observed two individuals breaking into a parked car. Officer Hastings then observed the two suspects run and get into a Honda Civic that was parked in a nearby parking spot. According to the officers statement he fired upon the vehicle as it approached him as the vehicle was attempting to flee the parking lot. Officer Hastings fired his weapon striking and killing the juvenile driver of the Honda Civic. Two other juveniles that were also in the vehicle fled the area on foot however they were apprehended a short time later. The juveniles have been charged with one count of breaking and entering of an automobile at this time.

The Honda Civic was reported stolen August 8th, 2012 from 13200 Chelan.

Officer Hastings, a fifth year officer was relieved of duty pending further investigation and administrative procedure.

The Department’s Major Crimes Division is conducting an investigation which will be reviewed by the Prosecuting Attorney’s Office. The Professional Standards Section is conducting an internal Administration investigation relating to Departmental policies.
